Dr. Elarbi Badidi received the B.Eng. degree in electrical engineering in 1987 from École Mohammedia des Ingenieurs (EMI), Rabat (Morocco), the M.Sc. degree in computer science in 1995 from EMI, and the Ph.D. degree in computer science in 2000 from Université de Montréal, Québec (Canada). He joined the College of Information Technology of United Arab Emirates University in Fall 2004.
Dr. Badidi has many years of professional and academic experience. From 1988 to 1992, he was a Software Engineer at the Finance Ministry of Morocco. From 1992 to 1995, he was a Teaching Assistant at the ENSIAS school of engineering in Rabat. From 1998 to 2000, he was a Research Assistant at the Computer Research Institute of Montreal (CRIM). From 2001 to July 2004, he was a Bioinformatics Group Leader at the Biochemistry department of Université de Montréal.
Dr. Badidi has been conducting research in the areas of Service-Oriented Computing, Web services, and Cloud Computing. He served on the technical program committees of many international conferences. His research interests include Cloud computing, Edge and Fog computing, the Internet of Things, Big Data, context-aware services, Web Services and Service-Oriented Architecture.
