Privacy Policy

The short version: Ek Pal Ka collects minimal anonymous usage data through TelemetryDeck, a privacy-first analytics service, to help us improve the app. No personal data, no device identifiers, and no advertising data is ever collected. All other gameplay data stays on your device.
1. Who We Are
Ek Pal Ka is an iOS application developed and published as an independent app. If you have questions about this policy, contact us via the in-app feedback form.
2. Data We Do Not Collect
Ek Pal Ka does not collect any of the following:
Your name, email address, or any contact information
Your location
Device advertising IDs or IDFA
Crash reports or diagnostic data
Any data that identifies you personally
3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device
Ek Pal Ka stores gameplay data locally on your iPhone using iOS UserDefaults and an on-device JSON word database. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party. It includes:
Your personal best score
Your preferred language selection
Round play counts per language (used to pre-select your most-played language after 3+ rounds)
Your haptics preference
Per-word gameplay statistics: number of times each word has been shown, number of correct taps, average response time, pass rate, and the round index of last appearance — used to improve word rotation and avoid repetition
Round completion and abandonment data — used locally to track whether rounds are being finished
All of the above is stored exclusively on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes it permanently.
4. Anonymous Analytics via TelemetryDeck
Ek Pal Ka uses TelemetryDeck, a privacy-first analytics service, to collect anonymous usage signals. TelemetryDeck is designed from the ground up to be privacy-preserving: it does not use cookies, does not track users across apps or websites, and is fully GDPR compliant.
The following anonymous events are sent to TelemetryDeck:
App opened
Round started (language selected)
Round completed (language, score, correct word count)
Round abandoned (language, number of words completed)
Word correct (word, language, response time)
Word skipped (word, language)
Word timed out (word, language)
Word failed (word, language)
Anti-stall nudge triggered (word, language)
Personal best achieved (score, language)
These signals contain no personally identifiable information. TelemetryDeck uses a one-way hashing process to generate an anonymous user identifier from a combination of device and app data — this hash cannot be reversed to identify you. No raw device identifiers are ever transmitted.
TelemetryDeck is operated by TelemetryDeck GmbH, a German company. Data is stored on servers in the EU. You can review their privacy policy at telemetrydeck.com/privacy.
5. No Advertising or Tracking SDKs
Ek Pal Ka contains no advertising SDKs, no tracking pixels, and no third-party data brokers. We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Meta SDK, or any equivalent service. The App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt is not shown because no advertising tracking takes place.
6. Feedback Form
The app includes an optional link to an external feedback form (Google Forms). If you choose to submit feedback, any information you voluntarily provide is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. Submission is entirely optional and is not required to use the app.
7. Device Permissions
Ek Pal Ka requests access to one device capability:
Motion & Fitness (CoreMotion) — used to detect phone tilt gestures for pass/skip inputs during gameplay. Motion data is processed on-device in real time and is never stored or transmitted.
No other permissions are requested.
8. Children’s Privacy
Ek Pal Ka is rated 4+ on the App Store. It does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The app is fully compliant with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Apple’s guidelines for apps rated 4+. TelemetryDeck’s anonymous analytics collect no personal data and are likewise COPPA compliant.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the effective date above and note the change in the App Store release notes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
