My name is Eko. I am a Computer Specialist at BPS-Statistics Indonesia, working in the areas of Data Engineering, Knowledge Engineering, Software Development, and Applied AI within Statistical Information Systems. I design and maintain data pipelines, integrate datasets from multiple institutional sources, and develop internal applications and testing workflows to ensure system reliability in production environments. These systems support analytical units in transforming operational data into interoperable, decision-ready insights. In addition to my engineering responsibilities, I also contribute to statistical data workflows and collaborate with local government agencies, universities, and local communities to strengthen data and statistical literacy.
I obtained my MSc in Information and Telecommunication Technology from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 2021, under the joint supervision of Prof. Seung-Hun Han and Dr. Ileana Palaco Faeth. I also hold a BASc in Statistical Computing from the Institute of Statistics (STIS) (now Polytechnic of Statistics STIS), which I completed in 2012 under the supervision of Dr. Said Mirza Pahlevi.
My research interests lie in semantic data integration and knowledge-based systems, with a focus on ontology engineering, knowledge graphs, and knowledge representation for multi-institutional data ecosystems, including, but not limited to, official statistics. I study how semantic models can improve interoperability, reproducibility, and automated reasoning across heterogeneous datasets, and extend this work into graph machine learning, neuro-symbolic AI, NLP, and LLM-based approaches, with a particular emphasis on combining symbolic and data-driven methods in real-world knowledge-centric systems across domains.
I welcome research discussions and collaboration — feel free to reach out!

IGEP: Interpretable Global Earthquakes Prediction
<KSE526: Analytical Methodologies for Big Data>
This project proposes an LSTM-Attention Network for earthquake prediction that emphasizes interpretability by identifying the most influential time periods through attention weights. Unlike prior approaches relying mainly on traditional error metrics, the model provides insight into what drives its predictions. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms previous models in predicting both the occurrence and frequency of earthquakes on a global scale.
Smart Parking System: Improving Parking Efficiency through Intelligent Design
<CS457: Requirements Engineering for Smart Environments>
This project proposes a Smart Parking System that helps parking owners manage parking spaces while enabling drivers to easily find, reserve, and pay for parking near their destination. The system is developed using user-centered requirements engineering methods, including contextual design, use-case modeling, and prototyping, to improve parking efficiency and user experience.
