EKO Global Foundation (EGF) is a non-profit organization that strives to support and foster potential in underprivileged youths who dream of pursuing a career in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) through EGF programs, outreaches, and mentorship. The foundation is aimed at ensuring that all underprivileged youths are supported to achieve their maximum potential.
Develop programs that will strengthen the intellectual well-being of youths.
Provide educational resources that will equip the youths for successful career development.
Introduce and pair youths with community leaders, academicians, and entrepreneurs in STEM as mentors, through group and one-on-one mentoring programs.
Partner with public and private organizations for EGF programs and outreaches that will support and broaden the experiences of youths.
EGF was founded by Emelia Obodum Kusi. Emelia was born and raised in Ghana, West Africa. In her childhood and young adult stage, she recounts her personal struggle with access to academic resources, one that forced many of her peers who possessed great potential to quit their professional dreams. Despite the struggle, her faith in God, unflinching support from family and friends, and the calling to support youths in Ghana, the African continent, and the world at large, fueled her persistence for change.
This is a call to all. An army committed to serving youths in STEM from underprivileged backgrounds will better society now and tomorrow. Establishing EGF not only provides support for youths in STEM from low-income backgrounds but also creates the platform to build a team dedicated to serving and raising hope for youths.
