Dust off your boots and join Prof. Guernsey and Prof. Fisher Page for a night of line-dancing, BBQ, and beer. Never danced? No problem. We’ve done it only once. And you never know what hidden talents you may possess until you get out in front of a bunch of strangers and attempt to move your body to questionable music - preferably dressed to impress.  So, join us as we get out of our comfort zone at Wildwood Saloon. Date and time to be determined in consultation with winning bidders and the dance calendar. But please know it will be during the Winter/Spring 2025. Up to 8 students. Bidding starts at $200.

Professor Roesler and HELI Program Director Blake Rupe invite 3 students to join them for a special tree planting. Celebrate Earth Month (April) by helping the university arborist plant a tree near the Law School, where you can watch the tree blossom along with your careers! After the tree planting, we will enjoy a picnic lunch from Trumpet Blossom in the shade that our new tree will someday provide. This event will take place in April at a time TBD. Starting bid: $100

Many people have fond memories of their first car. Or they may be a historian or have a relative from the military with service on a particular ship, aircraft, or other equipment. Or, if Star Trek was your passion, Spaceship "Enterprise". This is a unique opportunity for bidders to specify that they want an authentic scale model of that Corvette, GTO, Ford, or Chevy that they cherished, or coveted, and then offer a bid on it! 

Note: large scale models are off the table for obvious reasons... sorry to disappoint:((

Professor Yockey invites 3 students to join him to cheer on either the Iowa Heartlanders (Coralville) or the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders professional hockey team. Students can pick which team they want to see! Professor Yockey will provide tickets at center ice, along with dinner/drinks/snacks. He will work with the winners to select the specific game they would like to attend in October, November, December, January, or February. Bidding starts at $250!

While babies in the 1970s, Professors Dick and Vogel respect the hip desserts of the Disco era and will explore a standout or two from that time with up to six (6) students. Will we time travel to discover Baked Alaska? Black Forest Cake? Flower-power cakes? Take a chance on us and join this strange (but delightful) trip back in time.

Professor Matheson and his wife Bridget have a Halloween-themed night planned at their home. On the itinerary:  pumpkin carving while watching a Halloween-season movie, craft cocktails (leaded or unleaded) with a Halloween twist, a craft cocktail making demonstration (watch Dr. Frankenstein at work in her laboratory with dry ice and blow torches), and a homemade dinner. The Mathesons will send you home with ingredients and a cocktail recipe card along with your jack o’lantern. Professor Matheson will consult with the winners to determine their movie-fear-factor preference, any dietary restrictions, cocktail menu and an evening to activate leading up to Halloween.

Join Prof. Crouse for LAGBRAI IV: the Law Annual Great Bicycle Ride Along the Iowa [River], Part IV. Fast ride, slow ride, short ride, long ride: it’s up to you. We’ll start from the law school, ride along the Iowa River, and stop at Big Grove for lunch. Four students; lunch, drinks, and LAGBRAI IV souvenir included

Calling all tabletop heroes! Professor Rantanen will run a one-shot Dungeons & Dragons adventure for 4-6 players. The session will preferably take place in the fall semester, but must be before the start of spring classes. Snacks & beverages provided.

Chief Judge Lars Anderson and Professor Dawn Anderson will take 6 students to Big Grove on a Friday night for a round of drinks and appetizers. We’ll talk about what you want to talk about and forget about school for a while.

Join Dean Wing at Joseph’s Steakhouse for an evening of lively conversation and delicious food! Bidding starts at $150!

Dinner for four with Professor Todd Pettys at his home, featuring five-star dishes that he’ll cook from the New York Times Cooking website, plus either cocktails or a winetasting that he will arrange after consulting with the winners about their preferences. Minimum bid: $250. The higher the winning bid, the better the food and drinks!

Join Professor Ksobiech at her home for a friendly and competitive evening of board games and trivia. To fuel your brainpower, plenty of food and drinks will be provided.

Hike with Property Professors Berger & Toomey. Includes transportation, food, hot cocoa (and, if desired, an alcoholic variation, the legendary James Toomey Holiday Concoction). Easy, moderate, or difficult hikes possible, anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour and a half away. Up to six people. We may see a fox (that wily quadruped!) but will try not to trespass.

Professors Gaynor and Grewal are spear-heading a trip to the Pickleball Palace! You and 5 friends will join them for an intense tournament. Relish the chance to suffer defeat from your long-marinated professors. Or, if you’re not scared hitless, take the tournament crown yourselves. There’s never been a better chance to prove that you’re the real dill! After the tournament, we’ll lob over to the Rooftop Pub for some camaraderie and nourishment.

Get ready for a night of fun, strategy, and drinks at "Brews & Board Games" with Professor Rosado at Big Grove Brewery! Grab a local craft beer and dive into a worker uprising with 'Strike! The Game of Worker Rebellion,' dominate the board in 'Monopoly,' or kick back with classic 'Checkers.' Whether you’re here to outwit your pals or just hang out, bring your crew of 2-4 and choose your game. It's the perfect mix of laughs, games, and making a difference. Don’t miss it!".

Join Professors Jordan and Diamantis as they impart their knowledge of the finer arts of cocktail craft. We will mix a few different cocktails, both classic and modern. We will also discuss some advanced methods for extracting flavors to add to your drinks, such as the making of tinctures. Participants will take home a bottle of their own, custom-blended bitters. All materials and mixing equipment will be provided. Topics of conversation might include: the meaning of life, how many angels can dance on the head of a pin, and whether we know that we aren’t brains in vats. With luck, there may even be some bottle juggling lessons. Location: Professor Jordan’s house.

Two University of Iowa men’s basketball tickets for the December 15th home game vs. New Orleans

Kate Melloy Goettel and Emily Hughes will host a trivia night for a group of up to 15 students at Professor Goettel's home. (Thankfully, the trivia will not be law-related, so you need not worry about obscure references to the Lochner era.) The winning team will receive adoration, bragging rights, and nominal to-be-determined prizes. Date to be determined in conjunction with students' preferences. Pizza and snacks will be served.
