SKKU - Sungkyunkwan University's beautiful campus

Korean university applications are specific to each university and applicants are split into two groups:

  • 3 year out group
  • 12 year out group and international applicants.

Each group has its own application time line. You will need to check with each university for the specific dates as while most applications will happen after graduation, there is provision for some early applications.

Universities usually release the application requirements and submission dates in May/June of the student's High School graduation year - so during or just after final exams. Each university will specify their application procedure but the documents to submit usually includes:

  • a completed application form
  • a personal statement and plan of anticipated study
  • proof of graduation and an academic transcript of modules studied
  • passport
  • proof of Korean language ability
  • proof of financial capability
  • proof of a financial guarantor
  • letter of attendance for each year of schooling
  • certificate of graduation
  • certificate confirming service and other activities as part of the CAS programme
  • EIS Senior School Profile
  • EIS Calendars
  • EIS grading system
  • EIS unofficial transcript - Grades 9-12 (+school reports if requested)
  • Mock exam results (if requested)

School will provide students with up to 8 packs containing original, certified copies of the above documents. When the student has completed the application form, these packs can be taken to the embassy in HCMC to be notarised / stamped if required. Students can then choose to return the stamped packs to us and we will send the documents alongside the confidential supporting documents. Alternatively, students can keep the 8 packs and submit them to the universities themselves by hand or by post. We advise the former.

Confidential supporting documents consist of:

1. Official Academic Transcript of Records covering all years that the student has attended EIS, including predicted grades - stamped and signed by the EIS principal.

2. Letter(s) of recommendation and/or completed recommendation form, as each university specifies- stamped and signed by the EIS principal.

3. EIS school profile

The confidential supporting documents will be sent directly to the universities via DHL by school.

All documents must be submitted during the official submission period. It is the student's responsibility to inform the school of the exact address and submission date required for each pack of confidential supporting documents.
