AP Physics
Student end of year Rube Goldberg Project
AP Physics is a bit of a passion of mine. When I was an initial educator, I never anticipated teaching physics. I thought it was a back up plan. When I was asked to teach it, a passion blossomed. I love to see how physics is all around us and hope that I graduate students who see the applications of our content in their lives multiple times a day. I know I do :)
In our course, AP Physics Course 1, we will cover the content needed to pass the College Board AP Physics Course 1 Exam in May. We will be spending at least 25% of our classtime working on lab experiences to strengthen our knowledge of the content.
Topics include:
-Kinematics
-Dynamics
-Circular Motion and Gravitation
-Energy and its Conservation
-Momentum and its Conservation
-Rotational Motion
-Simple Harmonic Motion
-Waves
-Mechanical Waves
-DC Circuits and Electric Forces
We will use Vernier Equipment to conduct a number of experiments throughout the year. There will be opportunities for outside study sessions before unit tests. Students can find more detailed information on our Schoology page.
