Doom Scroll is a simple offline application meant for fun and to discourage over-consumption of social media.We care about your privacy and security of personal information.Doom Scroll Anti ("we," "our," or "the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. Usage Data: The App uses the Android `UsageStatsManager` to monitor when you are using specific social media apps (Instagram, TikTok, and X). This data is processed locally on your device in temporary memory to calculate your current "doom scroll" session and trigger roast notifications.
Volatile Storage: Your scroll times are kept in the App's temporary memory (RAM). We do not save your tracking data to persistent storage. All session data is automatically reset and deleted when the App is force-closed or the process is terminated by the system.
We use the following third-party services which may collect data according to their own policies:
Google AdMob: Used to display advertisements. AdMob may collect device identifiers and anonymized data for advertising purposes.
To provide the core functionality of the App (tracking real-time usage and sending "roast" notifications).
To show advertisements via AdMob.
4. Data Control & Deletion
Usage Access: You can revoke the "Usage Access" permission at any time in your Android System Settings, which will stop all tracking.
Instant Deletion: Because your usage data is stored in volatile memory, simply force-stopping the App or swiping it away from your "Recent Apps" list will permanently delete the current session's tracking data.
The App uses satire, sarcasm, and "roasts" as a motivational tool. By using the App, you acknowledge that these notifications are intended for entertainment purposes and to discourage over-usage of social media, and are not meant to be taken as serious or harmful statements.
This App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
