The game is quite hard (possibly to be balanced), but also has an easy mode.

Gameplay
Undertale is a role-playing game, but nobody has to get hurt. When monsters attack you, you have the options of attacking back, performing an action, such as flirting, using an item, or being merciful. Regardless of which option you pick, most monsters will attack you during their turn and you have to dodge their attacks. The cool thing is that each type of monster has a unique attack pattern, so you have to learn their attacks to efficiently dodge them. Some bosses have the ability to change how you move as well, as an added challenge when you fight them. (Or flirt with them.)
Another big gameplay aspect is the idea of morality. Sure, you can kill monsters, but the game sure does a really good job at making you feel terrible for doing it. It also tries to steer you off of that path more than a dozen times. It takes a lot of determination to stay a pacifist as well. It's no wonder that most people end up on a neutral path on their first playthrough.
Music
Toby Fox, the creator of this game, has made a lot of music for the webcomic, Homestuck. For those of you who are familiar with this comic, then you'll understand why I love the music in Undertale. You can listen to the first 77 tracks here. My personal favorites are "Death by Glamour," "Can You Really Call This A Hotel, I Didn't Receive A Mint On My Pillow Or Anything," and "Megalovania." But each track perfectly suits each part of the game, amplifying the emotion, or being comically out of place. I may or may not have cried when "Memory" started playing at the end.
Besides the main group of characters, there's lots of other NPCs. There's townsfolk, enemies, and shopkeepers. Speaking of shopkeepers, Burgerpants is the manifestation of resignation and stress with cat ears. If you don't have a reason to play Undertale yet, (Though you should), play it so you can meet Burgerpants.
Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. I mean, really, what's the point in entering a relationship with someone if you don't know whether or not you're compatible on a very basic level?
You use a program called JoytoKey ( Joytokey.net )
Its lets you convert joypad inputs into keyboard inputs (basically you can setup the second player controller D-pad/Joystick to press the WASD keys to control its character).

Originally released in 2019, Moddb user Depa31's Undertale Together allows two players to complete the entirety of Toby Fox's 2015 indie adventure, well, together. With help from a remote desktop tool like Parsec, it can effectively offer online co-op as well.

Offline Mode is a gameplay mode in DONTFORGET Connected. It allows players to explore the world of DONTFORGET Connected on their own, without having to connect to the main multiplayer server.
Upon creating a new Offline Mode SAVE file, the player will be prompted to name their new vessel, in the same way that players are prompted to name the fallen human in the beginning of Undertale. The player can also export an Online Mode SAVE file to use in Offline Mode; this will preserve the original Online Mode SAVE, and the player will be able to access almost everything they've unlocked in the original SAVE, but Offline Mode SAVEs cannot be exported back to Online Mode.
After opening a new SAVE file, the player will spawn in the Hub as Harlow. From there, they are free to explore the world of DONTFORGET Connected as they please. Of course, there are some gameplay differences, mostly related to the mechanics that were reliant on DONTFORGET Connected being multiplayer.
Unlike in Online Mode, every vessel except Harlow is locked by default, and all other vessels must be purchased for 100G each to use them. This applies even if exporting an Online Mode SAVE to Offline Mode; if the player is using a non-Harlow vessel in the Online Mode SAVE, they will still be using it in the Offline Mode SAVE, but upon switching vessels, they will not be able to switch back to their original one unless they unlock it with GOLD. Upon being unlocked, vessels regain any unique attributes they had in the Online Mode SAVE, including vessel level and any hidden costumes that were unlocked.
A series of collectible puzzle pieces are scattered around the six main worlds of DONTFORGET. There are 20 puzzle pieces in each of the main worlds, for a total of 120 puzzle pieces. Collecting them all earns the player the Gold Frisk costume.
2-Player Mode allows a second player to play Offline Mode simultaneously. It can be toggled on in the CELL menu. Player 2 always initially spawns as Harlow, but they can choose any vessel that Player 1 has unlocked.
Player 1 generally has priority over game mechanics. Only Player 1 can access the C menu; the Access Menu buttons are used to toggle whose vessel is being changed in the Vessel menu. The camera follows Player 1 in the overworld, and Player 1 is the only one who can encounter enemies and use SAVE points. Both players can talk to NPCs and vendors (though only Player 1 can navigate vendor menus), and both players can go to another area if either one walks through an entrance to another area. Pressing 2 will make both players emote at the same time.
Both players control their SOULs simultaneously in battles. They share HP, stats, effects from skills, and partner boosts (although the partner only follows Player 1 on the overworld). As a bonus for playing together, all battle rewards are increased by 50%.
