Resident, local business owner, and parent, Brooks Barwell, gives to the annual Invest in EHS day each year.
"We support the EHSEF to create opportunities for teachers to seek training, tech, and inspiration to bring back to our students, and to foster an aspirational culture at EHS. We are grateful and confident that the members of the EHSEF Board leverage the funds for powerful effect.”
Colin Booth received a grant for copies of the book, Born a Crime, by Trevor Noah, for the 11th graders to read and discuss.
"Not only is Born a Crime both heartbreaking and hilarious, it's also very relatable. The excerpts that our students read last year showed not only the brutality of the apartheid system, but the similarities to much of our own history. Lastly, Trevor Noah's "voice" is SO engaging that the vast majority of our students were able to really sink their teeth into his story and come away with something profound and diverse. We are very grateful that the EHSEF funded my grant request for these books."
EHS principal Dr. Skyler Artes says that "without the support from the EHSEF, we would not be able to .....XXX."
