Elinor was an elderly woman living in Newtown for 16 years before she died. She didn't drive and had very limited income. She was often seen walking where she needed to go. Many people gave her rides and helped her in various ways, so we became familiar with her plight. She loved Newtown and was upset that there wasn't affordable housing here. A promise was made to her to help others in need, looking for a nice home in Newtown. Several women got together to fulfill that promise and formed a non-profit organization in her name. Elinors House of Newtown CT is currently a group of women who are committed to help Newtown residents in need, one family at a time. As a non-profit group, we want to have a home to help Newtown residents who are struggling and not otherwise able to stay in town. Please consider helping with your time or a donation.
