First Contact
Once you have decided for yourself that you need help, and want me to listen to your concerns, please get in touch.
My telephone number and email are at the bottom of this page. We shall then make an appointment for our first meeting.
If after that meeting you decide that we can work together we shall agree our further weekly meetings.
Discreet
I understand that we shall be talking about some of your deepest concerns.
You may not necessarily want anyone to know that you are seeing a counsellor.
That is why we shall meet in a separate building next to a normal house, with its own and discreet entrance in Stamford. Nothing on the outside will identify it as a counselling practice.
Confidential
Your concerns will often relate to your most private and personal thoughts and feelings.
That's why it is important that you know that all you say and express will stay between you and me in strictest confidence. (There are a couple of exceptions, which we shall discuss).
In that way you will be able to feel safe to explore your concerns with me and discover a way of handling them best.
Professional
Before I started my practice, I studied Psychotherapeutic Counselling for four years in Peterborough and Stamford and I am qualified with a Level 5 Diploma, a BACP Accreditation and additional training in several areas. For a while I worked for the YMCA and at an HM Prison.
I have supervision meetings to enable me to offer you the best counselling service possible. I am an accredited, registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), with regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
I am also registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), complying with data protection regulations (GDPR).
At University Centre Peterborough/Stamford College I teach the DipHE in Therapeutic Counselling (L4/5).
