Typography Poster

Course: Communication Design Fundamentals

This project focuses on highlighting and presenting an assigned font. Since Times New Roman was created for use in newspapers, I decided to try to reference this history with the hierarchy of my poster, creating a headline, and constraining the descriptive text to a smaller column. I experimented with the organization of the character sample, along with the styling of the quote, but finally settled on the version at the left.

This project emphasized iteration and feedback, resulting in 23 different versions of this poster as it developed. These included variations on the title style, different capitalizations, drop caps, use of opacity, and using text elements as graphics.

In this project, I worked in Adobe InDesign, along with analog processes to sketch different iterations of potential designs.
