Course: Fundamentals of Computational Design
This first project emphasised using procedural, geometric moves on an existing precedent building, to derive new forms. This started with abstracting the essential geometry and structure of the precedent building, resulting in the two lengthy strips of mass. The first transformation was rotating these strips to intersect, then tapering and repeating the form. Finally, the mass was twisted, to create verticality, and recontextualized around this vertical variation.
The second project used a similar logic of transformational steps, but this time, to create a fractured mass, pictured below.
