Lamp

Course: Studio Foundation II

This project started with one of Theo Van Doesburg's axonometric plane compositions. Three planes were selected as the basis for the design of the lamp. These planes then inspired the color and materials of the lamp. I decided to use folding methods for the entire construction of the lamp, creating a system of foldable tabs which held the metal of the lamp to the acrylic. By texturing the metal, it also gives the light a different quality as it reflects off the surfaces of the lamp.
