Dance Paint Interface

Created in collaboration with Olivia Wu

The goal of this project was to investigate interaction of human senses with space. We decided to translate human motion to paper through a pair of strings, linking a dancer to an artist. The motion of the dancer pulls the artist's brush across the page, creating various textures and marks (below), depending on the tools used. We also considered how different mediums could be indicative of different styles of dance or intensity of movement. This project also heavily leveraged collage as a method of communication and imagination.
