Welcome!

My name is Eftychia Solea and I am a lecturer in Statistics at the School of Mathematical Sciences at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL).

Before arriving at QMUL, I worked as a lecturer in Statistics at the Center for Research in Economics and Statistics (CREST) and at the École Nationale de la statistique et de l' analyse de l'information (ENSAI), the national French school for statistics and data science in Rennes, France.  I worked as a postdoctoral researcher in statistics at the University of Bochum in Germany (2019-2020) and at the University of Cyprus (2017-2019).

In 2017, I obtained a Ph.D in statistics from the Pennsylvania State University in the USA, where I was advised by Bing Li. I received a MSc in statistics from the Pennsylvania State University (2014, advisor: Aleksandra Slavkovic), a Master of Advanced Study (Part III of the Mathematical Tripos) from the Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics of the University of Cambridge (2010) in the UK, and a BSc in Mathematics from the Department of Applied Mathematics and Physical Sciences of the National Technical University of Athens, in Greece (2009).
