Narratives in English
When people tell stories or talk about past events, four tenses are mainly used: The Simple Past, the Past Continuous, the Past Perfect Simple and the Past Perfect Continuous. At times, the narrative Present Tense is also used to make the narration more immediate and dramatic.

In order to tell a story others will listen to and identify with, you will have to organise your narrative by taking small, consequent steps from the beginning to the end of it. One way of reaching a Good Ending is by following a 'path', a well-designed route that will drive you to your destination. In this respect, using Plot Diagram Templates like this and this will hopefully make your paper fly!
Writing a Narrative composition appeals to one of humankind's basic instincts, the impulse to share stories. Sometimes the aim of the story-teller is simply to entertain, to provide a moment of escape from the business of the day or the horrors of the night, but sometimes the aim of the story-teller is to instruct, to help others in their understanding of something. A short Summary of the novel
The five Bennet sisters have all been raised by their mother with one purpose in life - finding a husband. However, the second eldest Lizzie can think of 100 reasons not to marry. When Mrs Bennet hears the exciting news that a wealthy bachelor and his circle of sophisticated friends are to take up summer residence in a nearby mansion the Bennets are abuzz with the hope that potential suitors will be in full supply. Obligingly, the newcomer, Mr Charles Bingley, is immediately taken with the eldest Jane. However, when Lizzie meets up with the darkly handsome and snobbish Mr Darcy, what seems like a match made in heaven quickly becomes divided by pride and prejudice.
