We review every message and reply as soon as reasonably possible.
When reporting a problem, please include:
• Your iPhone model
• Your iOS version
• Your Effortless Budget version
• A description of what happened
• What you expected to happen
• Steps we can follow to reproduce the problem
• A screenshot or screen recording, if helpful
Please do not send transaction details, financial records, backup files, banking information, account credentials, or other sensitive personal information.
You can find the installed App version through your iPhone’s App settings or on the Effortless Budget App Store page.
Effortless Budget is designed to separate everyday spending from special purchases.
Start with your income. Set aside savings and investments, account for fixed spending such as rent and bills, then establish a flexible limit for everyday expenses.
When you spend less than your everyday limit, the unused amount contributes to your Splurge balance. That balance helps you track what your spending discipline has made available for trips, concerts, special dinners, gadgets, and other luxuries.
Your savings and investments can continue as planned. Splurges represent room created by thoughtful everyday spending rather than money taken from your future priorities.
Effortless Budget is a budgeting and tracking tool. It does not hold, transfer, withdraw, or invest real money.
A Splurge is a special or occasional purchase that you want to track separately from everyday expenses.
Examples may include:
• Flights and vacations
• Concerts and events
• Special dinners
• Electronics
• Hobbies
• Gifts
• Other one-time luxuries
A major one-off purchase can consume a large part of a normal monthly budget and make an otherwise responsible month look unsuccessful.
Tracking it as a Splurge prevents that purchase from distorting your view of regular spending habits.
No. The Splurge balance exists only inside the App as a budgeting calculation.
Effortless Budget does not create a bank account, move money, or prevent money from being spent elsewhere. You remain responsible for keeping the real funds available.
That decision remains entirely yours.
The App is designed around accounting for savings, investments, rent, bills, and other fixed commitments before determining what is available for flexible spending.
Your Splurge balance helps show what disciplined spending may have made available without treating your savings as ordinary spending money.
Your monthly spending limit is a flexible target for everyday expenses.
It helps you see:
• How much you have spent
• How much remains available
• Whether you are approaching or exceeding your limit
• How your everyday spending affects your Splurge balance
Effortless Budget organizes transactions into:
• Income
• Fixed spending
• Everyday expenses
• Splurges
Fixed spending may include rent, savings, investments, installments, subscriptions, insurance, or other regular commitments.
You can create categories for income, fixed spending, and everyday expenses.
Everyday expense categories may also have individual spending limits to help you understand where your money is going.
Future-dated transactions appear as upcoming transactions. They help show how planned income and spending may affect the amount you have available.
Recurring transactions can be used for regular income, rent, subscriptions, bills, savings contributions, and other repeating activity.
You can select your preferred currency inside Effortless Budget.
Effortless Budget does not retrieve live exchange rates or automatically convert transaction values between currencies.
Changing your selected currency may change the currency symbol used to display amounts without converting previously entered numerical values. Review your existing data carefully before changing currencies.
Open the Effortless Budget menu and select:
Backup data
From this screen, you can:
• Create a backup
• See when the last backup completed
• Turn automatic backups on or off
• Select an automatic-backup frequency
• Check whether the backup is using iCloud or local device storage
When iCloud is available, Effortless Budget stores its rolling backup in iCloud Documents.
Make sure:
• You are signed in to iCloud
• Cloud Drive is enabled
• Effortless Budget has permission to use iCloud
• Your device has an active internet connection
• Your iCloud account has available storage
If iCloud is unavailable, the App may store a local backup on the device instead. A device-local backup may be lost if the App is deleted or the device is lost.
After a fresh installation, Effortless Budget checks for an available backup. If one is found, the App offers an option to restore it.
To improve the chance of finding the correct backup:
• Sign in with the same Apple Account used to create it
• Enable iCloud Drive
• Connect to the internet
• Allow time for iCloud to download the backup
• Keep the App open while restoration completes
Do not delete Effortless Budget while troubleshooting unless you have confirmed that a usable iCloud backup exists.
Deleting the App may permanently remove device-local data and any backup stored only on that device.
No backup system can guarantee recovery in every situation.
Effortless Budget does not require a separate App account and does not connect to your bank.
Your budgets, categories, transactions, and notes are stored in App-controlled storage on your device and may synchronize or back up through your private iCloud environment.
Effortless Budget includes optional analytics through Google Analytics for Firebase. Analytics is disabled by default and may be enabled through:

We do not intentionally send transaction amounts, budgets, category names, transaction notes, or chosen currency to Firebase Analytics.

If something does not look correct:
• Confirm that your iPhone is running a supported version of iOS.
• Update Effortless Budget to the newest available version.
• Close and reopen the App.
• Confirm that the correct month or year is selected.
• Check the transaction date, type, and category.
• Confirm whether the transaction is marked as a Splurge.
• Check whether the transaction is upcoming or recurring.
• Confirm that your preferred currency is correct.
• If the problem involves backup, verify your iCloud connection and available storage.
• If the problem continues, contact support with the information listed in Section 2.
