About Me
I am a Phd student in economics at the university of Texas at Austin. Before phd, I graduated from Sharif university with a degree in aerospace engineering.
My main interests are in Industrial Organization, Econometrics and Market Design, with a focus on two-sided platforms and the stock market. I interned as applied scientist at Uber and quantitative researcher at TRS pension fund.
I am on the job market (2023-2024).
Research Interest:
Industrial Organization, Econometrics, Online Platforms, Market Microstructure, Finance
Papers:
Information Design in Ride_hailing Platform (JMP) [pdf]
Create a discrete choice model and estimate rider’s price elasticity using data of 3.1 million trips in Python
Cluster drivers based on their worked hours and spatial movements
Model drivers’ entry and quitting decision using dynamic discrete choice model (Bellman equation) and estimate their reservation wage
Estimate the riders’ demand and drivers’ supply and simulate the market under different pricing policies
Competition among Market Makers in Stock Market [pdf]
Develop a micro-founded model of the market maker’s cost function and their negotiation with brokers
Estimate the structural model using data of 606 and 605 report
Simulate the market when market makers compete with each other on an order-by-order basis
The Effects of Stale Prices on Mutual Funds [extended abstract]
Define updated prices to represent better latest information compared to stale prices which is caused due to different frictions in trade including trading suspension
Compute the NAV using updated prices and compute its deviation from the announced NAV
Finding the causal effect of this deviation on flow to funds using regression models.
Experiment Design for Demand Estimation (MIT CODE - Extended Abstract)
Optimize treatment assignment in experiment design to generate strong IV for estimating differentiated
