Social Emotional Learning

SEL.pdf

Social emotional learning is not just about what the individual experiences, it is about the environment and the group. Students often deal with stress and threats, but the classroom should be different. The classroom needs to be a place where students feel free to learn, free to make mistakes in front of others; a place where students feel supports by the other students and by the educators.

Self-Assessment

Use this handout to do a quick self-assessment on the level of social emotional skills exhibited in your classroom. This is not something to spend a lot of time over, just go with your general feelings.
