Welcome to GoCharge ("App", "we", "our", or "us"). GoCharge is an electric vehicle (EV) charging station finder and navigation application designed to help users locate, navigate to, and manage charging sessions at EV charging stations across India.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you use our App. By using GoCharge, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2.1 Location Data
Precise Location (GPS): We collect your device's real-time GPS coordinates to display nearby charging stations, calculate distances, plan routes, and provide turn-by-turn navigation.
Approximate Location: Used as a fallback when precise GPS is unavailable.
Location is collected only while the app is in use. We do not track your location in the background when the App is closed.
2.2 Device & Usage Data (via Firebase Analytics)
Device model, OS version, and app version
App usage events (screens viewed, features used, session duration)
Crash reports and ANR (Application Not Responding) logs
This data is collected anonymously and is used solely to improve app performance and user experience.
2.3 Account & Authentication Data (via Firebase Auth)
If you sign in, we collect your email address and/or phone number

5. Location Data — Special Notice
GoCharge requires location permission to function. Specifically:
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION — Required for precise GPS-based station discovery and navigation
ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION — Used as a fallback
We only access location when the app is actively open. Location data is used exclusively for in-app features and is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for tracking outside of the App.
You can revoke location permission at any time in your device Settings → Apps → GoCharge → Permissions. Note that revoking location access will disable the core functionality of the App.

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:
All data transmitted between the App and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
Firebase Firestore data is protected by Firebase Security Rules
We apply R8 code obfuscation to the App to protect against reverse engineering
Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication, a trusted platform by Google
We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we are committed to protecting your information to the best of our ability.
8. Children's Privacy
GoCharge is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately and we will delete it promptly.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

10. Internet Permission
The App uses the INTERNET permission to:
Fetch real-time charging station data from OpenChargeMap and Google Places
Load map tiles and navigation data
Communicate with Firebase services
Send and receive push notifications

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will:
Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
Notify users via an in-app notification or push notification for significant changes
Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
