Note: The participants will have to arrange their travel on their own. The travel costs will not be covered in the workshop's registration fee. The organizers are not responsible for any travel-related logistics.
Kanpur is mostly served by the airport of the city of Lucknow that is about 1 hour and 45 minutes drive from IIT Kanpur. There is also a local airport in Kanpur that is about an hour driving distance from IIT Kanpur. There are currently only a couple of flights, from Delhi and Mumbai, that arrive at the Kanpur airport. The Lucknow Airport has really good connectivity; you can flights for Lucknow from almost every Indian Airport.
The Kanpur Central is a well-connected train station. For example, there are over twenty trains connecting New Delhi with Kanpur, including two Vande Bharat Express trains. IIT Kanpur is located at a distance of about 15 kilometers from the Kanpur Central Railway Station. You can hire Autorickshaw or taxi. Autorickshaw and taxi will be available in Kanpur Railway Station at Exit side of Plateform No. 1. Autorickshaws fare is about Rs. 250-300/- and taxi fare is between Rs 350 to Rs 500 from Central Station to IIT Kanpur Campus. It takes about 40 minutes to drive.
The participants will be provided accommodation on campus in student hostels. The accommodation costs will be covered by the registration fee; participants do not need to pay anything for their accommodation. FYI, the student hostel rooms at IIT Kanpur are equipped with ceiling fans; there is no A.C. Please do not expect well-furnished A.C. rooms. The guest houses or visitors' hostels are not available for booking.
If selected for the workshop, you will have to pay the registration fee of Rs. 2000/-. The registration fee will only cover your accommodation and tea/snacks on the venue.
You will be provided accommodation in student hostels. You have to cover your travel expenses on your own.
