Our research group focuses on the structural performance and retrofit of civil infrastructure systems such as bridges, buildings, and other structures, the application of big-data analytics for resilient and sustainable infrastructure, machine/deep learning-based risk assessment of structures along with dynamic analyses or data collection, cumulative damage assessment of infrastructural systems under successive loads, earthquake-induced performance evaluation of nonstructural components such as steel liquid storage tanks and rack frames, and multi-scale system reliability and resilience assessment of underground gas and water pipeline networks against extreme loadings and floods.
