Satoshi Matsuoka is the keynote speaker for the workshop. He is the Director of RIKEN Center for Computational Science, a Professor at the Tokyo Institute of Technology and a Fellow at the AI Research Center which is part of the National Institute of Science and Technology (AIST), the largest national lab in Japan. Satoshi has been a leader in green computing for almost two decades, since power and energy consumption first emerged as an issue for HPC.
There are seven papers that will be presented at the workshop and published as part of the general conference proceedings. They are listed below by title and author.
"An Analysis of Contracts and Relationships between Supercomputing Centers and Electricity Service Providers" by Anders Clausen, Gregory Koening, Sonja Klingert, Peter M. Schwartz and Natalie Bates
"Operational Data Analytics: Optimizing the National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center Cooling Systems" by Norman Bourassa, Walker Johnson, Jeff Broughton, Deirdre Carter, Sadie Joy, Raphael Vitti and Peter Seto
"Modeling the Existing Cooling System to Learn its Behavior for Post-K Supercomputer at RIKEN R-CCS" by Motohiko Matsuda, Hiroya Matsuba, Jorji Nonaka, Keiji Yamamoto, Hiroshi Shibatam and Toshiyuki Tsukamoto
