I help students understand mathematics, recognize when a method applies, explain their reasoning, and work increasingly independently. My teaching connects fully worked examples with exercises and projects in which students choose and apply mathematical tools for themselves.
Prep for Scientific Calculus Fall 2026
Analytic Geometry and Calculus 1 Spring 2026
An Introduction to Optimization Fall 2024 and 2025
Analysis 4: High-Dimensional Probability Spring 2025
Topics in Math Probability — Spring 2027
A graduate course that makes probability available as a research toolkit, with rotating topics that can include machine learning, compressed sensing, and high-dimensional probability.
Mathematical Optimization for Data Science — Fall 2027
An undergraduate course for students with calculus and linear algebra background, focused on a smaller set of optimization topics in greater depth and methods efficient at practical scale.
I have taught mathematics since 2013 at UCLA, NYU, RWTH Aachen, LMU Munich, and the University of Pittsburgh. I received UCLA’s departmental teaching award in 2019.
