My name is Edward Roe, but most people know me as Ted. I am a Mathematics Ph.D. Student at Michigan State University studying Geometric Analysis and Geometric Relativity under the supervision of Demetre Kazaras. My mathematical interests are very broad, but my current research focuses on the convergence and almost-rigidity properties of Riemannian and Pseudoriemannian manifolds and quasi-local mass in general relativity. For instance, I am trying to answer questions such as, "if the mass of a manifold is small, in what sense can we say it is close to being flat?"
