The Julian Alps section of the Slovenska planinska pot (SPP) is the trail's most challenging and spectacular part, through the rugged heart of Triglav National Park. The ultimate highlight is the demanding ascent of Mount Triglav, Slovenia's highest peak, which offers an unparalleled sense of achievement and panoramic views. You will also be captivated by the serene beauty of the Seven Lakes Valley, a glacial landscape dotted with stunning alpine lakes, before descending into the vibrant emerald-green Soča Valley. This section provides an extraordinary blend of high-alpine adventure, natural wonder, and a deep connection to Slovenia's mountain culture and history.

Braved the storm to hike from Doliču to Koča pri Triglavskih jezerih. The weather made it a real challenge, but having these 3 warriors by my side made the hike less like a struggle and more like an epic quest. Grateful for the incredible company that made every difficult step worth it.

The final leg of my Slovenian hiking Edventure was full of unexpected turns! Due to the bad weather, I had to make a last-minute decision to reroute my hike, cancelling the trek to Planinski dom pri Krnskih jezerih and staying put at Koča pri Triglavskih jezerih for two nights.
But as it turns out, the change in plans was a blessing in disguise. After conquering Triglav, I wasn't done yet! The day after the storm, I climbed Mala Tičarica for a truly rewarding view. It's moments like these that make all the effort worth it.
