This Privacy Policy explains how JDC Tech and Design ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use the EduSync Guardian mobile app (the "App"). The App lets parents and guardians connect to their child's tuition centre or school (the "Centre") that uses the EduSync system.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
Information you provide
Login details: the Centre's domain, your email address and password. Your password is used only to sign in and is not stored on your device.
Profile information: your name, email, IC number, mobile and telephone numbers, and address. You can view and update these in the App.
Photos: profile photos of you or your child that you choose to upload, taken with the camera or selected from your photo gallery. The App only accesses the specific photo you pick. It does not browse or upload your photo library.
Information provided by your Centre
Your child's name, IC number, and branch/Centre name
Class packages, credits and the class calendar
Bills, invoices and receipts
Posts, announcements and notifications from the Centre
Information stored on your device
A login token, so you stay signed in
Downloaded invoices and receipts (PDF), saved temporarily in the App's private storage
What we do NOT collect
We do not collect your location.
We do not access your contacts, messages or call logs.
We do not use advertising, advertising IDs, or third-party analytics or tracking tools.
We use your information only to:
sign you in and keep your account secure
show your profile, your children's information, packages, credits and class calendar
show bills and let you download invoices and receipts
show posts, announcements and notifications from your Centre
let you update your profile details and photos
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Internet: to connect to your Centre's EduSync server.
Camera: only when you choose to take a profile photo. You can refuse or turn this off at any time in your phone settings; the rest of the App still works.
Photo selection: uses the Android system photo picker, so the App only receives the photo you select.
Your information is shared only:
With your Centre: the tuition centre or school you log in to, which manages your account and your child's records.
With JDC Tech and Design: as the provider of the EduSync system, to operate, maintain and support the service.
When required by law: if we are legally required to disclose information to authorities.
All communication between the App and the EduSync server is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorised access, loss or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Your information is kept for as long as you have an active account with your Centre, or as required by the Centre's records and legal obligations. When you log out, your login token is removed from your device.
Under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA), you may:
access the personal data we hold about you
correct inaccurate or incomplete data. Many details can be updated directly in the App's Profile page.
request deletion of your account and data, or withdraw consent

The App is intended for parents and guardians, not for children. Information about children (such as name, IC number, photo and class records) is provided by the Centre or by the parent/guardian, and is used only to show that child's records to their parent/guardian.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
