Reflection
I have aimed to bring up this proposed idea for a Professional Development Application as we encountered some issues at school during our workshops.
Firstly,
Lack of knowledge retention: when one teacher leaves, all her knowledge and expertise leave.
Repetition of workshops and redundancy in the subjects being studied in PD days.
Lack of efficiency in training teachers about using the new applications needed for the practice.
Secondly, this is a suggested product idea, and further prototyping and interviewing are needed for teachers to collect feedback and ideas for improvement.
Despite the big jump in technical skills educators have encountered after the COVID-19 pandemic, many teachers are overwhelmed with the amount of work that needs to be done. Therefore, many of them are unwilling to get involved in many applications as it might become a burden for some rather than an additional software that requires their time.
I have to say that ETEC 522 have lightened an area in my brain about ventures that I didn't really pay much attention to. This is a great opportunity to learn how to aim and approad the business market.
