Who we are:
Who we are:
The CEA’s Educators of Color Coalition (EOCC) is committed to supporting, protecting, and empowering educators of color through healing, harm reduction, and building an anti-racist community dedicated to collective liberation. As a Coalition, we hold healing spaces and community-wide convenings. These spaces provide safety, sustenance, & joy to survive and thrive in an oppressive system. We work as a Collective to intervene and interrupt policies and actions that harm educators of color (EOC). By doing so, we strive to make Cambridge a better place for EOC. We create spaces for EOC to engage in “freedom dreaming” to envision liberatory schools and advocate for shifts in this direction. We believe in the collective power of educators, families, and students to reimagine the system from the bottom up and advocate for a community that sees and uplifts our full humanity. We are committed to living our values, including by holding ourselves accountable to our community. Everyone in Cambridge deserves schools that are free and just and it is in this spirit that we embrace the roles of advocate and agitator.
