Joanna Carroll is the Instructional Technology Director/Coach for Pekin Public School District 108. Prior to joining District 108 school district, she was an educator for 16 years. She is also a Google for Education Certified Trainer and Google for Education Certified Innovator. Joanna was the Illinois Computing Educators Co-Chair for TECH 2018-19; this is an event for students that is held at the State Capitol Building to raise awareness of the critical role technology plays in preparing students for today’s world. In addition, she was an Illinois Computing Educators Governing Board Representative for the ICE-HOI chapter. In 2020, she was awarded Educator of the Year by the Illinois Digital Educators Alliance.
In August of 2017, she attended the Google Innovator Academy in Sydney, Australia. This website was the FIRST phase of her project. The final phase will be a free app for educators, admins, librarians, Instructional Technology Coaches, and many others so innovation can take root and grow in our schools.
