The Research

This 2021 action research pilot study took place virtually by electronic survey on the impact of educator empathetic mindset on expectations of students and perceptions of student performance in an urban, public middle school setting. The educators studied had between one- and twenty-five-years of teaching experience. At the time that the surveys were submitted, five of the teachers were teaching 100% virtual, synchronous classes and one was teaching a hybrid model of virtual and in-person classes.
