Educational Innovation and Leadership Research Lab

The Educational Innovation and Leadership Research Lab focuses on advancing research and practice at the intersection of curriculum studies, educational administration, technology-enabled learning, and positive psychology. Grounded in Dr. Cheng Yao-Chung’s extensive professional experience as a senior high school principal, administrator, and educator, our lab is committed to bridging theory, empirical research, and real-world educational systems.

Our research team investigates how curriculum design, technological innovation, and school leadership shape learners’ motivation, well-being, and 21st-century competencies. Current projects include the development of generative artificial intelligence literacy frameworks, competency-based curriculum design, teacher professional development, and psychological well-being in educational contexts. We employ both quantitative and qualitative methodologies, including large-scale surveys, scale development, structural equation modeling, and mixed-methods approaches.

The lab works closely with the Ministry of Education and the National Science and Technology Council (Taiwan) through multi-year funded projects aimed at enhancing school governance, student support systems, and technology integration across K–12 and higher education. By collaborating with schools, teachers, and policymakers, we strive to create research-informed practices that promote effective learning environments and support holistic student development.

We welcome academic collaborations in areas such as curriculum innovation, technology education, social-emotional learning, AI in education, and educational leadership.
