During this week, the topic of Engineering Design were taught. Before this, I used to think that that Engineering and Design were two different ideas that can work together, but there is more to be aware of. Engineering means the process to implant, generate or produce something will potentially solve a problem and Design means "A fundamental human activity of creativity, analysis, problem-solving, learning, evolution and integration. I truly believe that for these two ideas, one also needs to be Open-Minded as there are countless ways to solve a problem. Based from the lecture, Engineering Design means "A systematic, intelligence process in which designers generate, evaluate, and specify concepts for devices, systems, or processes whose form and function achieve client's objectives or users' needs while satisfying a specified set of constrains". I agree with this definition because it combines the two definition of Engineering and Design and it makes sense when you put them together. In engineering you have to generate and come up with different solution but in order to achieve results, you need to create different ways to get there (this is when Design comes to place) and they can work together well if they are used right.
