In the Announcements section there is a post dated on Nov.10.2024: https://erasmus.umlub.pl/en/erasmus/announcements/art,7,call-for-uml-student-and-phd-student-erasmus-applications-november-2024.html where you will find information and resources (including today's presentation) about the current call - however as I've mentioned, it applies to mobilities that will end on July 31, 2025.
For mobilities that would take place over the summer, there will be another call for applications open following the end of the winter exam session: https://erasmus.umlub.pl/en/erasmus/announcements/art,6,call-for-uml-student-and-phd-student-erasmus-applications-november-2024.html
Important information related to diploma recognition specifically applicable to MUL English Division students who would like to do a Student Mobility for Studies and/or Student Mobility for Traineeship as their obligatory summer clerkship, (Erasmus+ Regulations Section I and IV (Order No. 70/2024 translated § 44,2., 1)-4):
Students undertaking education based on agreements with foreign entities (American Program, Indian Program, Asian Program, Arab Program, Huatuo Program, Medical Study Partnership Program between Gulf Medical University and UML) or in the International Program should consider that:
1) according to generally applicable legal regulations, the diploma supplement contains information about the student's part of the education carried out as part of academic exchange outside the home university;
2) if intending to practice the profession in a country other than those in the EU and EEA, UML cannot guarantee the recognition of such a diploma with its supplement as a basis for applying for the right to practice in countries outside the EU and EEA;
3) prior completion of part of the education within the study program outside of UML may adversely affect the granting of a U.S. federal student loan, which the student could apply for in the future;
4) students using U.S. federal loans (U.S. William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program) cannot participate in the Erasmus+ Program because they receive financial resources from the U.S. Department of Education based on the accreditation of a standardized medical study program at UML and its affiliated hospitals.
PLEASE CHECK IT thoroughly - each case individually.
Erasmus+ Programme is a program of the European Commission recognized by the EU institutions. Information that part of your degree requirement was completed outside the Medical University of Lublin will be officially stated in a diploma supplement. EU licensing institutions know about that.
Outside of the EU - this might be something new and questionnable. So this information is to give you a trigger to check ahead of time you do not go into troubles in the future. For example, If you're a student from Thailand and after graduation will be getting back to practice in Thailand - you can check it with the Thai Medical Council, or any other institution relevant for diploma recognition and getting the professional license.
So taking into account the time-action approach - it's a good time to start planning and preparing things for SMT anyone would like to do in the summer in 2025. At the end of the year/Jan-Feb 2025 - you can start reaching out to potential host institutions in the Programme countries (EU Member States and third countries associated to the Programme), discussing operational details, including academically related traineeship possibilities (doing...., observing, developing specific skills, etc). I recommend applying for long-term SMTs as this gives an applicant extra points in our recruitment process (Erasmus+ Regulations Section I and IV (Order No. 70/2024 translated §48,3.1). A student can get a mobility grant for an SMT lasting between 60 and 90 days.
Check what documents are required to make your application complete and other application related procedures Rules and Regulations
Update your CV
Take a Learning agreement SMT higher education (page bottom) to see what needs to be taken into consideration for discussing details. Collect some ideas for your mobility - define the goals. If you want to do an obligatory summer clerkship as your SMT - include Summer Clerkship program requirements to complete the document. You can also refer to these frameworks for your extracurricular/voluntary plan. Start drafting the LA. You can consult the SMT content with the Faculty Coordinator (the Faculty coordinator approves and signs the final version anyhow).
Look for a host institution where you would like to reach your goals - you can think of and communicate with a few.. many....(this can be any university with the ECHE card located in a Programme country, or a private/public institution, e.g. a hospital dpt., a clinic, etc., laboratory, scientific institution). If you do not have any specific institution in mind, look for publications within your area of interest and check authors/co-authors and their affiliations, you might also try asking MUL professors related to the area for their suggestions (NOTE: do not expect they will do things for you, just ask modestly, whether they have any contacts abroad [within EU Member States and third countries associated to the Programme] and could share contact details for you to do further communication).
Try getting some information about the institution or a specific person, with whose supervision you would like to get trained - this will help you develop a personal motivation/cover letter. In a letter introduce yourself, say that you have an opportunity for getting an EU co-funded grant for a student mobility, explain why it will be important to you, why you chose this institution/ a person to become your supervisor, express your expectations for this experience directly on-site and in the long run (apart from your own experience you, can network more people and develop ideas for further cooperation!), try coming up with some added value to the institution your mobility would give (hands to do some tasks/procedures <respecting local laws>, your skills, knowledge, etc.).
Start communicating with the host institution (attach your CV, cover letter and draft LA).
If you get a positive response, update the LA accordingly - sign it (the applicant), get it signed with MUL Faculty coordinator and, if possible, get it signed by a responsible person at the host institution.
If getting the LA signed by the responsible person at the host institution is not possible at the time when you're collecting documents for your Erasmus+ application, for example, because some specific SMT details are yet to be discussed or a specific supervisor is yet to be assigned, but generally they are willing to accept you - you can take the form Attachment nr 14: Letter of invitation/ acceptance and ask them to sign this more general document. If the person does not have his/her personal/dpt. stamp - ask them to put the form to their letterhead (copy/paste). The remaining signature in your LA can be completed in the meantime. So your draft LA signed by you and MUL Faculty coordinator + an invitation letter will suffice for your application at MUL.
Double check if you have all necessary documents for your application and get ready for submission in the next call our office will announce following the end of the winter exam session (February/March 2025).
I will keep my fingers crossed!
