Instructions on how to create the perfect high pony tail 

Step 1 – Spray hair lightly with some water. Using some gel, distribute evenly over the top and underneath of the hair. 

Step 2 - Pull all hair back and smooth any bump or fly aways, using a comb or brush. 

Step 3 – Tie with a strong hold hair tie – be sure to match to hair colour. 

Step 4 – Using some hair from underneath the pony tail, wrap multiple times around to hide the hair tie. Secure with bobby pins. 

Step 5 - Finally spray with strong hold hair spray to ensure that the hair and any fly aways, are secured. 

Instructions on how to apply the required makeup for a show

Step 1  - Apply foundation

Always apply foundation to a clean face. Choose a shade very similar to the colour of the face. Using a makeup sponge, apply an even coat of foundation to the entire face, including under the chin, onto the neck. 

Step 2 - Set the foundation with a small amount of powder. 

Step 3 – Apply blush

Choose a blush colour similar to the natural colour of the cheeks. Smile and apply blush to the apples of the cheeks, sweeping up and out toward the hairline. 

Step 4 – Apply eye shadow

Using BROWN and WHITE, choose three shades, applying the darkest shade near the eye, the medium shade above the eyelid crease, and the lightest shade under the eyebrow. Remember to slightly blend the colours together. 

Step 5 - Apply eye liner

Use a liquid eyeliner on the top lid and a pencil liner on the bottom. (Use a pencil liner for both lids on very young dancers.) To line the upper lid, apply a thin, straight line starting from the inner corner. For a dramatic effect, allow the line to extend beyond the natural eyelid. To line the lower lid, start at the outer corner of the eye and draw a thin line under the lower lashes. Liner should start where the lashes begin and stop where they end on both eyelids. 

Step 6 - Apply mascara and fake eyelashes

Using black mascara, gently sweep on upper and lower lashes. Numerous coats will be required. All dancers MUST wear false eyelashes aside from the subjuniors.

Step 7 - Apply RED lipstick

Carefully apply a bright shade of red lipstick to the upper and lower lips. Blot softly with a tissue.
