I am Full Professor of Economic Policy at the Department of Economics and Management of the University of Trento, where I teach courses in macroeconomics at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. I am also a Fellow of the Euro Area Business Cycle Network (EABCN).
My research interests lie in the areas of macroeconomics, monetary policy and financial economics, with a particular emphasis on agent-based computational modeling, network analysis, applied econometrics and behavioral decision-making. I have published extensively on these topics in leading academic journals, including the Journal of Monetary Economics, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, Macroeconomic Dynamics and Information Sciences. I am also co-author of two books published by Springer. A complete list of my publications is available in the Research section of this website.
In addition to my academic work, I have served as an Independent Director on the boards of Intesa Sanpaolo S.p.A. (2013-19), Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo (2010-13) and Fondaco Lux S.A. (2008-10), with responsabilities in risk management, internal control systems, anti-money laundering and portfolio management. From June 2019 to February 2024, I held the office of Mayor of the Municipality of Rovigo (on leave from my academic duties).
