Student Testimonials
He was extremely kind and helped us whenever we needed it. He is also an amazing teacher. I always wished class was longer because he used the time so well. (Calculus III, Spring 2023)
Professor Karasiewicz, was a great professor who clearly knows what he is talking about and enjoys the subject. I enjoyed learning from him throughout the semester and appreciated his interest in our understanding of the material by clarifying any questions he could as soon as he could. I also enjoyed how he treated every question like a good question and would go to great length to re explain even the most basic of concepts. (Calculus I, Fall 2022)
Thank you for an amazing semester! You have managed to make math interesting to me which I am extremely grateful for, I was beginning to think I would never be able to find it fun, but alas, I do now! most of the time... Anyways, I especially appreciated how you would explain the proof behind each topic we were learning about, it really helped me to actually understand what I was doing and how it worked. (Calculus I, Fall 2023)
Edmund Karasiewicz is an amazing teacher. He gets right to the point and is able to teach and describe the concepts well to the class in a quick, concise, and understandable way. He is skilled in building upon past lessons, making use of the chalkboard in an organized and understandable matter, and willingly allows class participation and questions for the material.
He also spent a few days recapping trigonometry at the beginning of the semester, and ended up teaching me more and helped me understand it better than the entirety of highschool honors math ever did for me. And I think that says a lot. (Calculus I, Fall 2022)
Ed's confidence and familiarity with the material were very inspiring. It was easy to follow along in lecture and Ed was always happy to clarify when necessary. He also did a very good job of developing rapport with the class and making people feel comfortable asking questions. He often let students assist in important steps in a proof which kept people engaged. (Number Theory, Spring 2019)
The professor provided his students with a safe and comfortable environment where students were not afraid to ask a "dumb" question. I attended office hours and I saw that he validated everyone's question and contributions and followed up on them. I also enjoyed that he was more concerned on whether the students were able to follow along with the material over him being able to cover everything that he wanted to cover. (Number Theory, Spring 2019)
I appreciated Ed's ability to read the class and adjust his pace as necessary. It is clear to me that he prioritizes understanding over speed, and I saw that he took intentional efforts to make sure that everyone was on the same page. Every lecture, he took time to answer questions, and in office hours, he was extremely approachable and helpful. I look forwards to taking more classes with Professor Karasiewicz. (Number Theory, Spring 2019)
Lectures were always excellent, with clear explanations for all the new concepts that were covered. I came away from the class with a strong intuitive understanding of the material and concepts, as well as the ability to apply them. (Multivariable Calculus, Spring 2019)
Ed is an excellent professor who extends himself above and beyond to help students understand course content. I especially appreciate him clearly communicating applications of certain class concepts as well as proving some fundamental theorems. Even though the lecture would be over, I would see him still answering students' questions nearby and during his Office Hours in a way to help them understand. (Linear Algebra, Fall 2018)
