ABOUT OUR TROOP
Who is Troop 226?
Welcome to Troop 226, where adventure, leadership, and family come together. As a family troop, we provide opportunities for Scouts to explore the outdoors, develop confidence, serve others, and create lasting memories alongside supportive leaders and families. Our goal is to help every Scout discover their potential while having fun, making friends, and living the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.
Scout Oath
On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.
Scout Law
A Scout Is....
Trustworthy Loyal Helpful
Friendly Courteous Kind
Obedient Cheerful Thrifty
Brave Clean Reverent
What do we do?
The aims of Scouting are to encourage growth of youth through character development, leadership development, citizenship training, and personal fitness. This is accomplished by allowing the Scouts opportunities to lead and make decisions regarding the direction of their troop with adult leader guidance. The Scouts also have opportunities to learn new skills and apply skills learned through various outdoor experiences.
Trained Leadership
All leaders are required to complete Safeguarding Youth Training and clear a background check. Scouting America places the greatest importance on providing a safe environment for youth members. In order to ensure this, leaders undergo position specific training and activity specific training so they are able to maintain a safe environment for all scouts.Â
In addition, we have several policies such as two-deep leadership and no one-on-one contact with youth to continue to ensure that safe environment.
