Through a collaborative tabletop card game, students will work together to build a garden ecosystem that can remain balanced and resilient in the face of weather changes, garden pest outbreaks, and more.
Fast Fashion: Understanding and Reducing Environmental Impact
What’s the real cost of your clothes? Where do old clothes go when you donate them? How can your style choices help the planet? In this interactive workshop, you’ll explore the lifecycle of clothing and uncover the environmental impacts of fast fashion from production to disposal. Through discussions and hands-on activities, you’ll learn how to make smarter, more sustainable choices without sacrificing personal style.
Stormwater, Pollution, and You!
One of the most pressing issues of our PNW areas is our water quality. Our state is in a drought, salmon populations are in trouble, and the waters in lakes and streams aren't clean to swim in! There are ways we can all be involved to fix some of these problems, and make the PNW a beautiful, clean ecosystem for us all to enjoy! This is one environmental and social problem that we can make a direct impact on!

How to Build a Better City: Wildlife-Friendly Infrastructure
Can humans coexist with wildlife? Are our cities wildlife-friendly? Join us to discover how human-wildlife conflicts can be reduced through innovative, wildlife-friendly infrastructure. During this program, students will analyze biofacts from our wildlife rehabilitation center and build sustainable infrastructure to understand its benefits for both wildlife and humans alike.
Big decisions, big impacts: Building Sustainable Mass Transit
Have you wondered about how Sound Transit makes the decisions of how and where to build sustainable transportation projects? Take on the role of a Sound Transit Board of Director with fellow students to make those big decisions and learn how you can influence the sustainability outcomes of large infrastructure projects.
