We are a group of passionate 3rd year students from the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Edinburgh.
Earlier this year some of us took part in IBM Quantum's Qiskit Global Summer School 2026. Inspired by what we learned - and the power of quantum computing - we came together with the goal of encouraging and enabling people in and around Edinburgh to learn about quantum technology.
We partnered with IBM Quantum to bring Qiskit Fall Fest to the University of Edinburgh for the first time.
Qiskit Fall Fest is an annual global celebration that brings together students, researchers, educators and curious minds.
Hosted at universities around the world, Qiskit Fall Fest creates opportunities for people to learn, share ideas and get hands-on experience with quantum computing. A series of talks, panels and a workshops allow participants to meet other like-minded people, learn about cutting edge quantum research and explore new ideas.
Qiskit is IBM Quantum's open-source software development kit that can be used to program quantum computers through Python. It provides tools to model and analyse both real-world and more theoretical problems in a wide range of disciplines.
