Show Your Support

The Progress Pride Flag, designed in 2018, is widely accepted as a symbol of LGBTQ+ pride, allyship and inter-sectionalism.  It is proudly flown everywhere from private homes to municipal buildings throughout the month of June all around the country.  The six rainbow stripes represent the gay, lesbian, and bisexual community, the black and brown represent marginalized LGBTQ+ communities of color, the pink, light blue, and white represent the transgender community, and the purple circle over the yellow triangle represent intersex people. Gender Identity Awareness

Gender can be a confusing subject to wrap one's head around these days, and we may not be sure exactly how to introduce the topic to our kids in an age appropriate way.  Individuals can identify as one of the binary genders, as moving between the genders, as no gender, or as another gender altogether.  Trying to explain that to kids might seem daunting, but children start thinking about and expressing gender as early as 2 years old, so it is important to start these conversations early.  These guides and videos give you the tools and vocabulary for explaining a complex subject in a simple, easy to understand, and age appropriate way.
