About Edge of Appalachia: Our Mission
At Edge of Appalachia, we believe that photographs should do more than just capture your subject. Photographs are meant to capture the colors, sentiments, personalities, and most importantly connections between you and your loved ones. Our craft is about story-telling written in a style of prose that speaks to you, whether that's adventurous, quirky, romantic, whimsical, angelic, or even dark and mysterious. Our mission is to provide you with engaging, unique, and sharp images that best represent the fine details and candid moments of those special events in your life, whether you're in the misty mountains of Western NC, the urban and historic Greenville and Spartanburg, or the rustic rural landscapes of Pickens and Anderson, SC.

About the Photographer
Edge of Appalachia Photography is operated by Sarah Barfield. She has lived in upstate South Carolina for most of her life and developed a passion for capturing the beauty of little things in nature at a young age. She has sustained her interest in nature photography for over 15 years and continues to enjoy photographing the flora and fauna of the foothills and mountains of SC and NC. Over the last several years, Sarah has expanded her interests into other domains, including wedding, event, and portrait photography.
