I am very interested in exploring strategies to address the challenges associated with the development of a sustainable paradigm for human growth. In this regard, I explore the development circular models of production of consumption of critical materials is a crucial step towards the achievement of a long-term sustainable development paradigm. I like to work in the intersection of environmental and sustainability fields with the decision-making and optimization techniques using open source software.
I started my bachelor in Chemical Engineering at the University of Salamanca (USAL) (Spain) in 2011, having the chance of performing an engineering internship at Michelin S.A. Following my bachelor studies I completed my master studies USAL, spending three months at SCK-CEN (Belgium) as research intern. After a three months break for being part of LAPASSION project the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (Santiago de Chile, Chile), and I went back to the University of Salamanca to carry Ph.D. studies under the supervision of Prof. Mariano Martín. During my time as Ph.D. candidate I had the opportunity of holding a position as ORISE Research Fellow hosted by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USA) under the supervision of Dr. Gerardo. J. Ruiz-Mercado. After my doctoral studies I worked as postdoctoral fellow at the Département de génie chimique of Univesité Laval in the BioEngine research group of Prof. Céline Vaneeckhaute. Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Mining and Materials Engineering of McGill University under the mentorship of Prof. Sidney Omelon.
