What is PICA?

PICA stands for Promoting Integrated Comprehension and Alphabetics.

This core curriculum for K-2 literacy synthesizes reading research from educational psychology and cognitive psychology as well as its creator's 20+ years of experience teaching reading.

The result is a truly interactionist approach to early literacy that fosters both automaticity and a strong sense of monitoring for meaning from the word recognition level to the sentence and discourse processing levels.
