Competition Teams

Our competition team routines are usually completed during the summer through summer camps. You must attend the summer camp in order to be in a group routine. Every competition dancer is required to take at least one dance class in addition to their competition class throughout the year.

Requirements and Rules:

1. Each dancer must have taken at least one year of ballet prior to being a member of a competition team.

2. Each routine and costume for competition is an extra expense to tuition and recital.

3. Music, choreography, and dancer position in each routine is at the teacher's discretion. Remember the instructor is making the best routine possible for the team.

4. Always be respectful, have a good attitude, and show good sportsmanship!

5. Solos, duets, trios, and specialty small groups are given based on the instructor's discretion.

6. All competition entry fees and costume fees must be paid in advance to the competition. Competition entry fees may need to be paid a few months in advance. Instructors will inform parents of the cost of the entry fee and costume fee as soon as possible.

7. Students should be present for all competition practices unless there is an emergency or you have an approved absence by your instructor. We are a team, when someone is missing from a practice, the routine can't be fixed if there is an issue.

We usually attend at least one competition regional event. We also, normally attend a nationals event in Virginia Beach.
