UK Friends of Schneider Children’s Hospital on Instagram: "A gift beyond words. A second chance at life. When 8-month-old Bissan faced life-threatening liver failure caused by a rare liver condition, time was running out. Then came an extraordinary act of courage. Dr Talia Eden, a 39-year-old researcher and lecturer at Bar-Ilan University, made the decision to donate part of her liver to save a child she had never met. For Talia, the moment was deeply personal. Her own father passed away while waiting for a liver transplant he never received. Determined to give another family the chance hers never had, she stepped forward to become a living donor. Just days before the operation, Talia learned that her liver would save Bissan, an 8-month-old Arab baby from Jerusalem. When she was told Bissan’s condition was rapidly deteriorating, she turned around on her way to the airport and returned home to undergo the life-saving procedure. The transplant was successfully performed at Schneider Children’s Medical Center. In a world often divided, this story reminds us of what truly matters: compassion, humanity, and the power of one person to change a life forever. At Schneider, miracles happen every day because of dedicated medical teams, pioneering treatments, and remarkable people like Dr Talia. Together, we continue to give children the chance to grow, thrive, and live the futures they deserve. #SchneiderChildrensHospital #SavingLives #OrganDonation #Hope #Compassion MedicalMiracles HealthcareHeroes"1 likes, 0 comments - ukfriendsofschneider on June 2, 2026: "A gift beyond words.
