Social Media
I love using social media to get the word out about geography and various projects occurring within it. Over the years, I have managed various accounts, including:
@geozone_collective (Instagram): NEW! A fledgling transnational network for sharing zines about geography.
@transformgeog: NEW! Contesting the colonial, racist, sexist, and queerphobic legacies of the geographic tradition and its spaces. Envisioning an/other geography.
@feminist_geo (Twitter): Highlighting the work of feminist geographers and issues in feminist geographies.
@feministgeographies (Instagram): Highlighting the work of feminist geographers and issues in feminist geographies.
@wtfisgeography: Providing accessible definitions to geography's big words.
Retired from @youarehereUA (Twitter and Instagram): Official communication channel for you are here: the journal of creative geography and forum for sharing work in creative geographies.
I also occasionally give workshops on how to use social media and other online platforms to develop professional presence and advance academic projects. Get in touch if you are interested!
Below you can see two popular educational/outreach campaigns I've run on social media, @wtfisgeography and #MeetAFeministGeographer.
