1) Your artist will apply a thin layer of ointment and cover the tattoo with cling wrap, a black bandage, or a transparent dressing.
2) If your artist has used Cling wrap or black bandage keep it on for 3 days.
3) If your artist has used Transparent dressing ( DERMAL) you will keep it on for upto 6 days.
4) Do’s & Don’ts
i) Do not wash your tattoo for the first few days.
ii) Keep it moist using ointments like After Inked, Hustle Butter, Cetaphil.
iii) Reapply ointment and keep it covered for protection, especially during sun.
5) After Removing Bandage
i) Expect some cell shedding (like skin peeling) this is normal.
ii) If the dressing comes off early, clean gently, remove the bandage and apply some moisturizer.
i) Redness and swelling should subside in 1–2 days. If not, dab with alcohol and seek medical advice.
ii) Avoid scratching or picking scabs. Let them fall off naturally as new skin forms.
1) Always wash your hands or wear disposable gloves (latex or nitrile) before touching your piercing.
2) Begin gently moving your jewelry daily (push/pull/rotate) to prevent it from sticking to the skin. Use a small amount of body lotion if needed.
3) Avoid tight clothing over piercings and cover sensitive areas (like nipples) with a large bandage to prevent irritation.
4) For piercings near hair: Adjust the jewelry slightly to prevent hair from wrapping around the bar.
i) Clean your piercing twice a day.
ii) Use non-harsh, fragrance-free soap and saline spray (or a pinch of sea salt in clean drinking water).
iii) Apply a small amount of moisturizer if the surrounding skin becomes dry.
--> Shower Cleaning:
i) Clean the bar and surrounding area with liquid soap.
ii) Gently move the jewelry back and forth.
iii) Rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a clean towel.
--> Dry Cleaning:
i) Use a Q-tip and warm water to remove dried matter.
ii) Avoid alcohol or harsh disinfectants.
1) For 4 weeks, rinse your mouth with non-alcoholic, non-antibacterial mouthwash after eating, drinking, smoking, kissing, etc.
2) Do not remove jewelry to clean.
3) Avoid swimming in chlorinated water.
If your piercing is red, leaking fluid, or very painful after 3–4 days, contact a healthcare provider immediately.
